Hybrid Working seems to be the buzzword of the moment for obvious reasons. While we (try to) avoid the term ” the new normal” as much as possible, it does appears that hybrid is growing exponentially. So let’s dive in…
In a recent report by Accenture, 83% of 9,326 workers surveyed say they prefer a hybrid model — in which they can work remotely at least 25% of the time. Over the past 18months, the work-from-home model has been put to the test, bringing organizations through the Covid crisis and it has now evolved into a key productivity strategy for the future of work.
What does Hybrid Working mean?
While Hybrid working is not a new phenomenon it has most certainly been strengthened by the covid-19 pandemic. There isn’t yet a definitive definition, but in essence, it is a working structure where an individual, team or organization work part of their time at the workplace and part remotely.
What does this mean for Training employees?
Although many organizations have transitioned to working from home during the pandemic there is still much preparation to put in place when it comes to a hybrid model of working especially when it comes to training and recruitment, employers will still need learning programs to ensure a smooth transition.
How will Hybrid Work change the future of work:
According to McKinsey, 2021 in the post-pandemic future of work, nine out of ten organizations will be combining remote and on-site working, according to a new McKinsey survey of 100 executives across industries and geographies. The survey confirms that productivity and customer satisfaction has increased during the pandemic.
As they say, it’s becoming the “new normal” (sorry, sorry!), so keep an eye on our insights page as we continue to discuss Hybrid work in a new blog post series where we will discuss what training will look like under a hybrid way of work and how hybrid work could impact performance appraisal.
